Be Thou My Vision/His Eye Is on the Sparrow

Perhaps my favorite from the recital, this selection came to have special meaning for Karen and me as, partway through our preparation (and we only had 8 weeks to prepare!), not only did I get a nasty 2-week virus, but Karen burned her corneas! Suddenly we did not just need to ask God to give us vision for what He wanted to accomplish in this concert. We also had to ask for His provision of sight for Karen so she could prepare and perform! And He came through victoriously. Truly His eye IS on the sparrow, even two little sparrows such as Karen and me, and we are grateful. This is not a modern take on these tunes -- a bit old-fashioned, you might even say -- but it is from our heart of hearts.
